By using Statistics Finland’s Meadow survey data and register-based data, this study exploresthe extent to which the relationship betweenFinnish companies’ HRM practices and productivity is influenced by whether the information about such practices is received from themanagement or employees. Furthermore, weexamine the extent to which the results differbetween companies that produce standardizedvs. customized products. The results show thatit is possible to increase understanding of therelationship between HRM practices and productivity in both groups by taking into accountalso employees’ views on the implementation ofsuch practices
